Developing a nature-centric savings account that teaches valuable and on-brand financial lessons to kids.
Community South Credit Union was ready to cast away their old cookie-cutter kid’s club. Identifying an opportunity to build on their “lakes and fishing,” natured-oriented brand, we developed the Reel Money Kids Club featuring a new mascot, Gil. The new program instills good habits and teaches valuable money lessons by rewarding children with wooden nickels, called fins, for saving money and getting good grades. The credit union also hosts quarterly celebrations where club members can redeem their fins for prizes, sweet treats, and games. We produced a life-like version of Gil who can often be seen at celebrations and community events.
